I have had a little time to reflect on the 11 second club and the experimental project since the hand in and I have decided a few things. I tried really hard with the 11 second club, as I had pretty much decided that I hated animating and so I spent the whole time doing my 11 second club hating every moment of it. But looking back, I think I secretly enjoyed the whole process and I have been snooping around on the 11 second club website to hear the latest sounds clip (which is well good may I add!) I did discover just how much I dislike animating on Flash, I need to learn how to use Toon Boom Animate Pro - I have only heard good things about it! I thought about the style of animation I like and would like to start creating - something more illustrative, and less cartoony looking. I am going to start keeping my sketchbook and I aim to draw or to fill a double page everyday.
I have had a few thoughts about my experimental project- I really enjoyed animating to music, and although the piece I did was wierd, I felt I could have gone a lot further with the "weirdness" and made something really cool. This led me on to thinking about what I might do for my self negotiated project next term, and I really want to explore animating to music more and try my hand at using different (traditional) mediums as well as combining it with 3D (another thing I neeed to practice) Ho hum... we'll see what happens!
