First off here are some sketches and the like I have done. Some are based loosely on Kathy's "Conversations" project, but mostly they are just scribbles.
After fretting for the last two weeks about 11 second club and wandering what program to use to make it, I realised today we have 2 weeks until the deadline and I REALLY need to get started on it. I think I am going to do it in flash. I know how to use flash quickly and easily and it saves me having to relearn Maya whist animating. Basically, I am silly and I should have sorted my time out better.
I have done some rough sketches and thumbnails of a few ideas -
I knew I wanted to play on sizes between the two characters and I thought for the main character I could use a small rodent (mouse, squirrel etc) I need to draw up the character designs next. They are going to be pretty simple. I have done a very basic and rough story board with camera angles and poses. Next step after character designs is to do the story board and animatic. I want to get this all done today so I can start animating tomorrow (just blocking things to out to get the timing right) and when I get to that point I will be happy and I can slog on doing the animating and the like.
Dan linked me to this really helpful lip sinc tutorial type thing HERE. I have done my (very rubbish) reference video -
This is me and my (very begrudged) housemate trying to act out the scene. No oscars for us.
I think that is all for todays' show and tell. Hopefully there will be more to show tomorrow!
