Here is the latest in my ongoing battle of learning how to Character Animate...
11 second club test 2... more to do! from Insa Burch on Vimeo.
After looking through it and wondering why it looked so wooden and boring, I made Derek have a look and he told me all the camera cuts didn't make sense - the continuity was all off and therefore it was making the animation really 'Bitty'. I have scribbled all over it now and fiddled with the camera cuts and added some extra drawings in a desperate bid to try and make things look more fluid. I am trying my hardest to make it work but it still looks rubbish. I have come to the conclusion that I am never going to make it as a character animator, which I suppose is good, as I detest it!
In other animation related news, I have some ideas about my experimental piece. I also showed this to Derek today and he seemed to like it, but he said it lacked a lot of actual pixellation, which is what I thought the case may be. I am trying to get my 11 Second club out of the way so I can enjoy myself and finish off the experimental as a treat to myself ('cause its really fun to edit!) I am going to try and (time permitting) draw on the frames and create some sort of bizarre bird head thing to put on top of the actors heads. I am also going to do some more pixellation which messes with the idea of movement and reality... more to come on that front once I get 11 second done and dusted!
Top 'o the mornin' to yeh!
