Today I experienced my first day in the Animation studio - It was a very pleasant affair! One of the task's I was asked to do was to 'Morph' a circle over 12 frames (or drawings) into anything we wanted. I really enjoyed doing this as I was pretty much given a free rein over it. My original idea was going to be a crocodile jumping up and eating a beach ball, but I decided against this and went for the idea of a Hippopotamus eating a moon; which then crack's and breaks into little pieces of cheese. It's a bit of a random idea, but it seemed to be different than a lot of other idea's floating around so I stuck with it. After doing all the various drawings (and discovering the joys of the light box!) I then shot the frames on the line tester. The idea is that everyone in the class starts with the same circle and morphs it into different things and then reverses it back into the original circle. At the end of the whole process there will be a a couple of minutes of film where everyone's circle will morph into their chosen thing and back again, continuously.
That was a rather long winded explanation of the task, but it was very fun! I chose to stick to traditional drawing methods by using watercolours, as I prefer this. Here it is -
